WASHINGTON, D.C.—Ahead of tomorrow evening’s annual State of the Union Address, Rep. Greg Stanton said he hopes the President takes advantage of the opportunity to bring Democrats and Republicans together on the issue of infrastructure.
“My colleagues on both sides of the aisle agree that we need solutions to modernize and revitalize our nation’s highways, airports, bridges, waterways and transit systems,” said Stanton. “Yet, since the President took office three years ago, we simply have not made tangible progress towards rebuilding our nation’s crumbling infrastructure. I hope the President seizes the opportunity in his address to bring Congress together on the issue of infrastructure and set forth a clear course of action.”
Last week, Stanton joined House leaders and fellow members of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to unveil a comprehensive infrastructure plan that would invest $760 billion over five years and create 10 million new jobs.
