Congressman Greg Stanton says more funding for water infrastructure projects is coming to Arizona.
The $20 million will be dispersed to multiple cities. For example, Tempe will use the money for its Kyrene Reclamation Plant and Flagstaff will use it to create a water retention basin to protect a school from floods related to wildfires.
"This is team Arizona coming together for these important projects. These are smart investments that will help us use water more efficiently, and protect against flood threats, and I am pleased that the communities represented here can move forward with them," Stanton said.
Stanton helped to create the Arizona Environmental Infrastructure Authority four years ago. So far it has dispersed a total of $35 million for about two dozen local projects
