Modernizing our Infrastructure

Arizona is one of the fastest growing states, and as a former mayor of Phoenix and the current Vice Ranking Member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I know that improving all forms of transportation will make Arizonans’ lives better--and it’s great for business too. 

That’s why I was so proud to work on the historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law—a once in a generation investment to improve our roadways, airports, public transit, and more. I won’t stop working to leverage this legislation for the East Valley, whether it’s heading to Sky Harbor, Phoenix-Mesa Gateway or Valley Metro. 

I’m focused on growing Arizona’s clean energy transit options--expanding the Rio East-Dobson Streetcar and securing $2.3 million for an on-demand public transportation service in the East Valley that will target areas with little to no regular public transit service.

A bill has been introduced in U.S. House of Representatives that would provide a grant program for governmental entities to use drones for the inspection of infrastructure such as bridges.

Introduced by Rep. Greg Stanton (D-AZ), the bill would give the U.S. Department of Transporation authority to establish the grant program. Grants could be used to purchase or lease drones, contract for inspection services, and support drone management.

PHOENIX — A new $310 million concourse opened Monday at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and it offers travelers much more than just eight additional gates for Southwest Airlines.

The airport's eighth concourse at Terminal 4 features an array of art elements with a terrazzo floor that depicts aerial views of the Phoenix landscape and airplane window-shaped wall pieces.
