Arizona is one of the fastest growing states, and as a former mayor of Phoenix and the current Vice Ranking Member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I know that improving all forms of transportation will make Arizonans’ lives better--and it’s great for business too.
That’s why I was so proud to work on the historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law—a once in a generation investment to improve our roadways, airports, public transit, and more. I won’t stop working to leverage this legislation for the East Valley, whether it’s heading to Sky Harbor, Phoenix-Mesa Gateway or Valley Metro.
I’m focused on growing Arizona’s clean energy transit options--expanding the Rio East-Dobson Streetcar and securing $2.3 million for an on-demand public transportation service in the East Valley that will target areas with little to no regular public transit service.

Rep. Greg Stanton made the case to U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg today to support critical Arizona infrastructure projects, including Interstate 11 and the regional light rail. Secretary Buttigieg appeared before a House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee hearing on "The Administration's Priorities for Transportation Infrastructure."
Rep. Greg Stanton today announced that the Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona will receive $900,000 in federal funds to build a critical water pipeline on the reservation that will boost water security for the community.
Rep. Greg Stanton, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, and Rep. Marc Veasey of Texas introduced a bipartisan bill to reauthorize and increase funding for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program (EECBG).
The bipartisan effort provides grants to state, local and tribal governments to support initiatives that will reduce fossil fuel emissions and conserve energy. The bill reauthorizes the program and provides it with $3.5 billion annually for the next five years.
Arizona's transit industry will get more than $107 million in emergency funds provided by the most recent COVID-19 relief package-a priority for Rep. Greg Stanton who serves on the House Transportation Committee. The Phoenix-Mesa Urbanized Area-which Stanton represents-will receive $85,260,499 in funds for local transit systems, and an additional $756,544 to organizations that help meet the transportation needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities.
