Internships

Gain valuable political insight and observe how Congress operates with an internship in the office of Rep. Greg Stanton.

Washington, DC

In the Washington, D.C. Office, internships run throughout the fall, spring and summer semesters for college students. Hours are flexible to accommodate students' course schedules, but generally run 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. when Congress is in session, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. when not in session.

In D.C., intern responsibilities will vary. Interns will be asked to answer phones, research legislation for the Member and legislative staff, attend hearings and briefings, and answer constituent letters on various issues before the House.

A paid stipend is available to interns in the D.C. office.

District

The District office also runs fall, spring, and summer cycles for the internship program with a 12-hour per week minimum commitment.  Interns are assigned to assist in various constituent casework and outreach projects. Interns may be asked to do a variety of tasks, including day-to-day office work such as answering phones, writing letters, assist with media clips, and attending local community events on behalf of the office.
