PHOENIX-Arizona's airports will see hundreds of millions of dollars in COVID-19 aid after Rep. Greg Stanton advocated for much-needed funds in the CARES Act. Specifically, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport was awarded $147,883,988, and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport was awarded $20,530,276. In total, airports in the state will get more than $224 million in emergency funds provided by the CARES Act.
PHOENIX (3TV/CBS5) -- Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and other airports around Arizona can expect to get some financial relief during this COVID-19 crisis, thanks to the "CARES Act." CARES stands for "Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security."
The act will provide $224 million in emergency funds or Arizona airports. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport was awarded $147,883,988. Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport was awarded $20,530,276. And Flagstaff's Pulliam Airport will receive $18,134,294. Smaller airports around the state will also get relief aid.
PHOENIX - As the country battles the COVID-19 pandemic, 6,800 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients in Arizona continue to work in what the Department of Homeland Security deems "essential critical infrastructure," providing services that Arizonans depend on daily.

PHOENIX-The House Appropriations Committee today announced that Arizona hospitals and health care providers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic will receive more than $707 million in initial funding under the CARES Act.

WASHINGTON - Arizona lawmakers are urging congressional leaders to prioritize emergency funding for high-speed internet access in upcoming COVID-19 relief legislation.

PHOENIX-Reps. Greg Stanton and Ruben Gallego today demanded Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich to prioritize the safety of health care workers and public safety officers and stop medical supply vendors and manufacturers from price gouging.
In a letter to Brnovich, the Congressmen write, "As Arizona's top law enforcement officer, we believe that you can and should do much more to ensure that nobody profits from this or any other state emergency."
LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) - Two Arizona congressmen are calling for a price gouging investigation after they say a Lexington based company raised its prices for masks by 600 percent.
Phoenix area Congressmen Greg Stanton and Ruben Gallego made the claim in a letter to U.S Attorney General William Barr, and said the vendor is commonly used by the Phoenix police and fire departments.
In interviews, the congressmen identified the vendor as Kentucky based company, Galls.
