This week, I paid a visit to the Second Chance Animal Hospital in Sunnyslope. I learned that the hospital, supported by the Arizona Humane Society, is the largest shelter-based trauma center for homeless animals in the Southwest.
I had a chance tour the facility, including the "Mutternity Suites," and to meet with the life-saving veterinarians, veterinary technicians and assistants and animal care specialists who work there. These animal care professionals have devoted their careers to shelter medicine-treating some of the most in-need animals in our community.
This week marks one year since the House passed H.R. 8, a bipartisan bill that would require background checks for all gun buyers.
