It’s time for Congress to restore transparency in Washington and return political power to the people.
I’ve introduced a bill to ban Members of Congress from trading and holding individual stocks, so we can rebuild Americans’ trust that our government is working for the people, not politicians’ financial gain.
And when we were heading towards an unnecessary and potentially devastating government shutdown that would have put hundreds of Arizonans’ paychecks on hold, I called on House leadership to advance federal government funding legislation and supported bipartisan legislation to avoid catastrophic default and raise the debt ceiling.

Greg Stanton (D-AZ) issued the following statement after Arizona election officials brought to light a decades-old administrative error that could prevent nearly 100,000 longtime residents from voting in down-ballot elections. These registered voters may not have provided the proof of citizenship required under a 2005 state law, but were miscategorized on the voter rolls because of a coding error by the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division.

PHOENIX-Representatives Greg Stanton (AZ-04) and Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR-05) introduced bipartisan legislation to ensure communities impacted by extreme heat receive timely federal assistance. H.R. 9092, the Heat Management Grant Assistance Act, would amend the Stafford Act to provide federal assistance for extreme heat events, and create a special federal grant program for local communities to access needed resources for heat response and recovery.
