PHOENIX—Rep. Greg Stanton issued the following statement on the passing of Arizona’s 20th Governor Jane Dee Hull and Dr. Terry Hull.

“Arizona has lost a pair of extraordinary leaders in former Governor Jane Dee Hull and Dr. Terry Hull.  The Hulls were dedicated to making their community better—and did so through decades of public service.

I saw Governor Hull’s tenacity and results-oriented leadership first-hand when we worked together to create a one-of-a-kind genomics research institute, something we both believed would establish Arizona as a real player in the emerging biosciences industry.  None of the life-changing research and cures that have come out of TGen would have been possible without her partnership with the City of Phoenix in 2002.

Dr. Hull was a public servant in his own right, and the family moved to Arizona in the early 1960s so he could work as doctor on the Navajo Nation.

Arizona is a better place because of their service.  Nicole and I join all Arizonans in sending our condolences to the entire Hull family.”
