Valley Fever is a fungal infection that is acquired when you inhale spores that come out of the ground. It does not have a cure or a vaccine.

WASHINGTON, D.C.-The House today unanimously passed a bill to make Arizona's judicial system more accessible to residents in the northern and southwestern parts of the state. Rep. Greg Stanton has been working with the House Judiciary Committee for several months to advance the legislation.

Rep. Tom O'Halleran introduced H.R. 1569 earlier this year to amend the U.S. code to allow both Flagstaff and Yuma to hold district court proceedings. It has the support of every member of the Arizona delegation.

A controversial light rail project in Phoenix received a $100 million grant from the federal government this week - just more than a month before city voters will weigh in on whether to kill it and all future light rail development.

The Federal Transit Administration announced the funding July 9 for the South Central Phoenix light rail extension. The project calls for extending the existing Metro light rail line down Central and First avenues from downtown Phoenix all the way to South Mountain.

The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday unanimously passed a bipartisan bill backed by Arizona's entire congressional delegation that would expand access to federal courts in the state.

The bill was introduced by Democratic Rep. Tom O'Halleran in March and is co-sponsored by Arizona's eight other House members.

It would amend Title 28 of the U.S. code to add Flagstaff and Yuma to the list of cities that could hold federal district court proceedings.

A surge in cases of the potentially deadly respiratory disease began last year and has continued into 2019, with 4,869 cases reported to the Arizona Department of Health Services so far this year.

The Federal Transit Administration announced it will allocate $100 million in FY2019 Capital Investment Grant Funding to Valley Metro for the South Central extension.

A delegation of representatives led by the congressional Hispanic caucus Monday visited immigrant detention facilities in El Paso and Clint, Texas.

Arizona Democratic Rep. Greg Stanton, who was part of the delegation, called for increased congressional oversight following his visit. He said the U.S. doesn't have a detention system that meets American values.
