Arizona families deserve a strong economy that creates real opportunity for everyone—not just those at the top. 

Driving up economic output starts by supporting the entrepreneurs, small businesses and critical industries in our state. I’m working to do just that across all sectors, including infrastructure, high-tech innovation and education, so Arizonans can secure stable jobs with fair wages and good benefits.

I knew no state stood to benefit more from targeted investments in American semiconductor manufacturing.  And today, our CHIPS and Science Act has created tens of thousands of good paying jobs right here in the Valley. I fought to secure CHIPS funding, including $6.6 billion to open a third semiconductor production facility for TSMC, $8.5 billion for Intel’s construction of a microchip production plant in Chandler, and $39.8 million for research at Arizona State University. And I’m working to bring the global semiconductor supply chain closer to our shores.

Greg Stanton and state leaders announced that Arizona has been selected as the site for the co-located National Semiconductor Technology Center (NSTC) Prototyping and National Advanced Packaging Manufacturing Program (NAPMP) Advanced Packaging Piloting Facility, which was established through the Stanton-backed CHIPS and Science Act. This project-to be housed at Arizona State University's (ASU) Research Park in Tempe-will serve as a global center for excellence for next-generation microchip research and development, solidifying Arizona's position as a global leader in advanced chip manufacturing and innovation.

Today, the Department of Commerce announced it has finalized a $7.865 billion award to Intel Corporation through the CHIPS and Science Act, advancing Intel's expansion of leading-edge microchip manufacturing facilities in Chandler, Arizona, which will create nearly 3,000 high-paying manufacturing jobs and 6,000 construction jobs. This award follows the preliminary agreement announced in March and will directly support Intel's projected U.S. investment of nearly $90 billion by the end of the decade, part of the company's broader $100+ billion expansion plan.

SHIELD USA will drive innovation in the domestic microchip packaging ecosystem, expand capacity for domestic advanced packaging and help regain U.S. leadership in microelectronics while strengthening national security.
