WASHINGTON-U.S. Representative Greg Stanton (D-Ariz.) took failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate, failed U.S. Senate Candidate and current Senior Advisor for U.S. Agency for Global Media, Kari Lake, to task during a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing.
Stanton said it's impossible for Lake to perform her duties as head of Voice of America and the USAGM when she has lied so shamelessly about her own election-and detailing her most egregious election denials.

WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Greg Stanton (D-Ariz.) celebrated a major milestone in reestablishing Amtrak service connecting Phoenix and Tucson. Today, the Arizona Department of Transportation announced that the Federal Railroad Administration approved the first step of the Corridor Identification and Development Program for the proposed Phoenix-Tucson Intercity Passenger Rail.
Stanton-the only Arizona member of the House Infrastructure and Transportation Committee-secured $500,000 in federal funding in 2023 for the planning process used to develop a scope, schedule, and cost estimate for the service.
"This is a big step in our mission to return Amtrak service to Phoenix-connecting our communities, creating jobs, and expanding transportation options," said Rep. Stanton.

WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Greg Stanton (D-Ariz.) and Senator Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) are sounding the alarm about how middle-class workers in America will face higher costs because of President Trump's economic policies, while the uber wealthy (the top 0.1% of earners) get a massive six-figure windfall.
A new report released this week by the Joint Economic Committee Minority found that the combination of Trump's reckless tariffs and the Republican budget bill will cost the average middle-class American hundreds of dollars next year, while the wealthiest Americans will net a tax break of nearly $350,000.
"Trump's disastrous tariff policy, the uncertainty he's injecting into the economy, and deficit-busting tax cuts for the wealthy are all working together to drive up prices for hardworking Arizonans," said Rep. Stanton. "Teachers, police officers, firefighters, and other middle-class workers earn every dollar in their paychecks. The last thing they need is a president and an overreaching federal government rigging the system to transfer even more wealth to the ultra-wealthy."

WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Greg Stanton (D-Ariz.), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following statement following the announcement that the United States has bombed multiple nuclear sites in Iran:
"I'm grateful to our service members tonight who carried out their missions with courage and competence, and I thank God for their safe return.
I have many serious questions about the President's decision tonight. He failed to present clear and compelling evidence or come to Congress for authorization.
President Trump promised, "I'm not going to start a war," and "Great nations do not fight endless wars."

WASHINGTON-U.S. Representative Greg Stanton (D-Ariz.) issued the following statement after House Republicans passed a bill to rescind nearly $10 billion in previously-appropriated federal funding. The bill claws back $8.3 billion in foreign aid and $1.1 billion for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which provides funding for NPR and PBS.
"Today, House Republicans-at the request of the Trump Administration-are pushing through a bill to defund PBS and NPR. Let's be clear: these cuts are retaliation against media outlets for not towing the Administration's line. Arizonans deserve access to reliable and fair local journalism, free from government influence. I voted no."
