We have to prepare for a hotter, drier future by protecting our water for future generations. 

Through smart water management and targeted infrastructure investments, I’m working to secure the future of our water supply--and even lower your energy costs in the process. To effectively fight against climate change, we’ve all got to work together. I’ve partnered with Republicans to better combat drought and boost wildfire recovery efforts in the West. 

I’m leading legislation to allocate emergency funding and cooling resources during extreme heat events and to lower your energy costs by investing in hydropower technology. Just this past year, I’ve secured more than $11.9 million in federal funding for our communities, much of it for Arizona water infrastructure .

Stanton spoke to the unique challenges Arizona faces from climate change: extreme heat, prolonged drought, wildfires, and dangerous flash flooding. He outlined several infrastructure projects that need federal investment through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation.

Rep. Greg Stanton, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, and Rep. Marc Veasey of Texas introduced a bipartisan bill to reauthorize and increase funding for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program (EECBG).

The bipartisan effort provides grants to state, local and tribal governments to support initiatives that will reduce fossil fuel emissions and conserve energy. The bill reauthorizes the program and provides it with $3.5 billion annually for the next five years.
