Stanton Urges State Department to Use All Tools to Help Americans Wishing to Evacuate Israel

October 10, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Rep. Greg Stanton, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, today called on the State Department to do everything in their power to help American citizens who wish to evacuate Israel—including chartering flights or military aircrafts.

With many flights out of Ben Gurion Airport canceled or sold out due to the terrorist attacks by Hamas, Stanton's office has been assisting Arizonans and their families attempting to leave the country.

"Our offices have received harrowing reports from constituents who remain in Israel and are seeking to return to the United States as soon as possible. Given the rapidly escalating situation as Israel launches a counteroffensive, it is imperative that you use all tools at your disposal to return all U.S. nationals in Israel home who wish to do so," the more than 150 bipartisan members of Congress wrote to Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

A copy of the letter is available HERE.

Stanton's office has created a resource page for Arizonans and their loved ones in Israel and the region: stanton.house.gov/israel. It will be updated as more information becomes available.
