This week marks one year since the House passed H.R. 8, a bipartisan bill that would require background checks for all gun buyers.

It's a shame that more than 365 days later this bill still hasn't been considered by the Senate.

Ninety-seven percent of Americans support background checks, and that's because it's a common-sense first step to prevent criminals and domestic abusers from obtaining firearms.
