Many around the West Valley have complained about delayed mail over the last few months. Local representatives weighed in from both sides of the matter, with some crying “postal crisis” and others “fake news.”

Spoiled medications and missing rent checks are just some of the problems that Arizonans have seen as a result of recent postal system changes, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema said during a recent grilling of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.

Rep. Greg Stanton has introduced a bill to require the use of body-worn cameras for law enforcement officers as a condition of eligibility for COPS grants. The COPS Accountability Act of 2020, H.R. 7150, would require state, local and tribal government agencies applying for COPS grants to show they have plans in place to put a body camera on every officer who conducts searches and makes arrests.

Greg Stanton, D-Ariz., introduced a bill Friday, the Downwinders Parity Act, that would expand the “affected area” as defined by the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA). Signed into law in 2000, RECA is the existing means by which those who developed illnesses from nuclear radiation exposure can apply for government compensation.
