Every day, Arizona schools serve hundreds of thousands of breakfasts and lunches to students for free or at a reduced cost. Although schools in our community have closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our educators are working hard to ensure children still have access to the meals they rely on.

Last week, the House passed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which included more than $1 billion to expand food assistance programs to provide nutritious food to children who depend on those school meals, as well as to low-income pregnant women, mothers with young children, and low-income seniors.
